We’re a small team, so replies might take a moment, but we read everything and care about every message.

General questions

What is The Team Around You, and how does it work?

The Team Around You is a platform that connects artists with vetted industry experts for one-on-one consultancy sessions. You can browse experts based on their skills, book a session, and pay by the hour.

Who are the experts on the platform, and how are they selected?

All experts on the platform are vetted by The Team Around You. They are either professionals we have worked with directly or have been recommended by close colleagues we trust. This ensures there is always only one degree of separation between us and the experts we recommend.

What types of advice or guidance can I get from an expert?

Our experts cover all areas of the music industry in depth, from marketing to touring, legal, and distribution. We are continuously expanding our expert base to keep up with new industry developments.

How do I know which expert is the right fit for me?

Each expert has a bio outlining their skills and experience. Some experts also have videos where they introduce themselves and their expertise. You can review these details to find the best match for your needs.

Can I see reviews or testimonials about an expert before booking?

For some experts, testimonials and reviews are available, and we are continuing to add these as they come in.

Booking Sessions

How do I book a session with an expert?

Booking is simple. Click through to an expert’s bio page, where you will find a booking link. You will need to create an account to complete the booking.

Do I need to create an account to book a session?

Yes, an account is required to manage your bookings and receive session confirmations.

How far in advance can I book a session?

You can book as far in advance as you like, depending on the expert’s availability.

What happens after I book a session?

You will receive a confirmation email with details about the session, including the date, time, and location (whether online or in-person).

How do I prepare for my session to get the most value from it?

We recommend identifying your top priorities in advance. If you have clear challenges, send them to the expert ahead of time. If you're unsure about your priorities, come prepared with an understanding of where you are and where you’d like to go.

Can I reschedule a session if I can’t make it?

Yes, as long as you contact the expert at least two days before the session, you won’t be charged. Once the session is canceled, you’ll have the opportunity to reschedule.

What happens if an expert cancels my session?

If an expert cancels, you will not be charged. If an expert repeatedly cancels at the last minute, we will work with them to address scheduling challenges, as we respect your time.

Payments and Fees

How much do sessions cost?

The session cost is clearly listed on each expert’s bio page.

How do I pay for a session?

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You can pay directly via the booking link on the expert’s bio page.

What payment methods are accepted?

All major payment methods are accepted through Stripe.

When is my payment processed?

Are there any additional platform fees?

No, there are no additional fees beyond Stripe’s processing charges.

Will I receive an invoice or receipt for my payment?

What happens if an expert cancels a session at the last minute?

If this happens, you will not be charged. We monitor expert cancellations to ensure reliability.

Can I dispute a charge if I feel I didn’t receive value from my session?

Yes, if you have an issue, please contact The Team Around You, and we will help resolve it.
