Matt Hanner is a values-driven music business consultant focusing on developing opportunities for artists and industry professionals to further their careers. He launched his MakeDamnSure trading name at the end of 2025 to coincide with his move into freelance work. Previously Matt was the Founder of Runway Artists, a London‑based independent live music agency he launched in March 2020.

Having spent nearly a decade working at major agencies like Coda (now Wasserman) and ATC Live (now ROAM), Matt built Runway with the aim of nurturing a more diverse, inclusive and creatively-led workplace where staff and artists are both given the opportunity to develop successful careers in live music. Over 5 years Runway grew to represent over 150 artists across 7 booking agents. Matt personally represented an eclectic roster, including Melin Melyn, Personal Trainer, Pom Poko, Cosmo Pyke, Algiers, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, and many more.

Outside of his core role as a booking agent Matt also launched the “Agents × Managers Conference” as a space for emerging professionals to share industry knowledge, foster collaboration, and challenge the sector’s status quo—reflecting his belief that empowering his team is key to mutual success.

Known for his community‑first approach, Matt blends strategic insight with cultural leadership. His ethos emphasizes nurturing relationships, championing staff over hierarchy, and embracing the evolving landscape of live music shaped by streaming, tech shifts, and global disruption. Beyond the office, Matt is a committed family man—a married father of two—active in his local church and an ardent football supporter (On The Ball City!).
