Terms of Service: Experts
Effective from: November 1st 2025
Welcome to The Team Around You (TTAY). This agreement outlines how we work together. We've kept things simple and fair. If you're unsure about any part of this, just reach out.
- The TTAY platform is operated by The Team Around You Limited (“TTAY”, “us”, “we”, or “our”). We are registered in England and Wales under company 15177160 at Omega Works, London, E3 2GY
- These terms apply to any expert service provider that is approved by TTAY to be listed and offer their services as an Expert on the TTAY platform, known here as “Expert”, “you, “your” etc. We reserve the right to accept or reject Experts onto the TTAY platform at our discretion,
TTAY is a listing and marketplace service to connect Experts and Artists in relation to the provision of Expert services to Artists. We do not endorse any Experts; TTAY is not the supplier of the Expert services; and are not responsible for the Experts or Artists. When you engage with an Artist you are entering into a contract directly with the Artist. TTAY is not a party to any agreement between you and any Artist and TTAY accepts no responsibility for your Expert services or your or any Artist’s actions.
1. Our Shared Values
TTAY is built on trust and professionalism. By working with us, you confirm that:
- You only offer sessions in areas where you have genuine, proven experience.
- You treat the Artists using TTAY with professionalism and respect.
- You'll keep your availability calendar up to date and be reliable in your commitments.
- You will provide your services with all due skill and care, in accordance with good industry practice and professional standards, all applicable law, and will not do anything to bring TTAY into disrepute.
If you're unsure whether something falls within your area of expertise, you're welcome to collaborate with TTAY to determine the best approach or refer the Artist to another Expert better suited to their needs.
As we hope to provide Artists with a credible range of experts to choose from, we reserve the right to perform a certain amount of selection and vetting of the Experts.
2. Bookings, Cancellations & Conduct
We ask that you avoid cancelling sessions within 48 hours of the booking time. One-off emergencies are understandable, but repeated short-notice cancellations may mean we stop promoting your profile. Please note or other Booking, Payment and Cancellation Rules found here.
The Expert / Artist Minimum Terms, set out at the end of these Terms, apply to any contract formed between the Expert and Artist for the supply of Expert services via the TTAY service. When entering into a contract to provide an Artist with your services, you may also incorporate your own terms of business to govern the relationship. To the extent you do incorporate any further terms, the Expert / Artist Minimum Terms will be deemed amended to the extent of any inconsistency.
3. Payments and Commission
- You determine what price you charge for the session with the Artist.
- TTAY collects all payments from Artists on your behalf.
- TTAY deducts a 15% Service Fee from the session price and pays you the remaining 85% (less Stripe’s processing fee).
- Payment is made via Stripe, which charges a processing fee of approximately 1% (deducted from your 85% share).
- Payment is typically made within 7 days of the session.
- Any booking fees charged to Artists are separate and do not change your payment.
- We do our best to collect payments from Artists on your behalf, but cannot be held responsible for non-payment, failed payments, payment errors or chargebacks.
In the future, we may change the commission rate. We'll always:
- Give 30 days' notice before any changes.
- Make reasonable efforts to inform you via email and/or the platform.
4. Refunds
- If an Artist cancels with more than 48 hours' notice, TTAY will refund them fully.
- If an Artist cancels with less than 48 hours' notice, they will still have to pay your session fee.
- If an artist reasonably claims that a session didn't take place or was not delivered as described, TTAY reserves the right to refund them at its discretion. In such cases, we'll review any information provided by both parties.
5. Disputes
TTAY connects Artists with Experts—we don't arbitrate between you. If there's a disagreement between you and an Artist, we'll listen but ultimately reserve the right to make decisions in the Artist's favour, especially if a session didn't take place or the platform experience was significantly affected.
6. Updates to Terms
As TTAY grows, we may need to change these terms. You'll always get at least 30 days' notice before any new terms take effect. Continued use of the platform means you accept the changes.
7. Your Relationship with TTAY
You are an independent service provider acting as a business in your own right; you are not an employee, contractor, freelancer or partner of TTAY. You're responsible for your own tax obligations, insurance, and regulatory compliance in your jurisdiction. TTAY does not provide benefits, equipment, or direction over how you deliver your sessions.
8. Intellectual Property
- You retain ownership of any materials, methodologies, or content you create and use in your sessions.
- Artists own any work product specifically created for them during sessions (e.g., strategies, plans, documents created for their project).
- By using the platform, you grant TTAY the right to use your name, biography, image and expertise description for marketing and promotional purposes.
- Session recordings (if any) may only be made with mutual consent. Ownership of recordings should be agreed between you and the Artist before the session.
9. Confidentiality
You agree to keep confidential any non-public information shared by Artists during sessions, including but not limited to: business plans, financial information, unreleased music, personal circumstances, and strategic intentions. This obligation continues after your relationship with TTAY ends. You may share information only if required by law or with the Artist's explicit written consent.
10. Liability and Indemnification
- TTAY's total liability to you for any claim arising from this agreement is limited to the Service Fees deducted and retained by us in the preceding 12 months.
- TTAY is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any loss of revenue, profit or reputation.
- You agree to indemnify TTAY against any claims arising from: your breach of these terms, your negligence or misconduct, or your violation of any laws or third-party rights.
- Other than as explicitly set out, TTAY provides the platform "as is" and makes no other warranties, including but not limited to warranties about uninterrupted access or error-free operation.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement with 30 days' written notice.
TTAY may also terminate immediately if you:
- Breach these terms and don't remedy the breach within 7 days of notice.
- Engage in misconduct or behaviour that may damage TTAY's reputation.
- Repeatedly cancel sessions or fail to maintain professional standards.
Upon termination:
- You'll complete any scheduled sessions or refund the Artist.
- TTAY will pay any outstanding session payments owed to you.
- You'll cease using TTAY branding and references to the platform.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Before pursuing legal action, both parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution through direct negotiation.
13. Platform Exclusivity / Non-circumvention
For 12 months after first connecting with an Artist through TTAY, you agree that all paid sessions or consultancy work with that Artist introduced to you via TTAY must be booked through the TTAY platform and will be subject to the standard 15% Service Fee commission.
However, if your relationship with an Artist evolves beyond consultancy—for example, into an ongoing management relationship, label partnership, co-writing arrangement, or other collaborative role—please contact us directly to discuss. We're not here to block genuine career opportunities, but we do ask that you're transparent with us about the nature of any relationship change.
Deliberately bypassing or circumventing the platform to avoid commission on work that is or remains consultancy-based is a breach of these terms and may result in immediate termination and we may seek to recover our Service Fee commissions that you have avoided, along with any reasonable costs of recovering such amounts.
14. Personal Data and Data Protection
To the extent you receive or collect any personal data about Artists from us or from the Artists, you will be acting as data controller. You must collect, use and protect all personal data in accordance with applicable laws (including but not limited to the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR, the EC Regulation 2016/679 (the “GDPR”), and the EC Directive 2002/58/EC on Privacy and Electronic Communication.

Expert / Artist MINIMUM TERMS in RELATION TO expert SERVICES
These Expert / Artist Minimum Terms apply to any contract formed between Expert and Artist for the supply of any advice, mentoring, training, coaching or other services made available to the Artists by Experts (“Expert Services”) via the TTAY Service. When entering into a contract to provide an Artist with Expert Services, the Expert may also incorporate their own terms of business to govern the relationship. To the extent the Expert does incorporate any further terms, these Expert / Artist Minimum Terms will be deemed amended to the extent of any inconsistency. Any defined terms used here have the same meaning as in the Artist Terms of Service and/or the Expert Terms.
Agreement:
- Relationship: The TTAY Service is a marketplace booking and payment service only. TTAY acts as an interface in the engagements between Experts and Artist, including facilitating the payment process between Artist and the Expert. TTAY is not the supplier of the Expert Services. When Artists engage an Expert, the Artist and Expert are entering into a contract directly. TTAY is not a party to any agreement between the Expert and the Artist and TTAY accepts no responsibility for the Expert’s services or the Artist’s actions.
- Booking and Purchases: Any booking or other purchase made between the Expert and an Artist will be subject to the Booking, Payment and Cancellation Rules found here.
- Payment: The Artist will pay the relevant charges for the Expert Services. TTAY collects and processes such payments on behalf of the Expert and Artist, and remits relevant amounts to the Expert as part of the TTAY Service.
- Expert Services: The Expert will provide the Expert Services with all due skill and care, and substantially as described in any descriptions of the Expert Services. The Artist will act appropriately and professionally in all engagements with the Expert.
- Disclaimers / Warranties: The Expert makes no warranty that the Expert Services will meet the Artist’s specific requirements, or that any advice will be accurate or reliable. Other than any express warranties set out here and any rights the Artist may have under consumer laws, the Expert Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis and, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, without further warranty of any kind whether express or implied.
- Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither party shall be liable to the other under, or in connection with, their agreement in contract, tort, or negligence for any indirect or consequential loss whatsoever, nor any loss of profits, business, revenue, anticipated revenue, goodwill, opportunity, savings, or data, except to the extent that the loss or damage was incurred as a direct result of fraud or wilful misconduct. In any event, to the fullest extent permitted by law, each party’s maximum liability for loss or damages to the other shall be capped at the amount of the relevant charges for the Expert Services. Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence, for any fraudulent misrepresentation or for any other statutory rights which are not capable of being excluded. Nothing in these terms shall affect the Artist’s statutory rights as a consumer.
- Intellectual Property (IP): All IP in the Expert Services and related materials belongs to the Expert or their licensors. The Expert reserves all rights in the Expert Services and related materials, and the Artist only has a limited license to use or access the Expert Services and related materials to the extent necessary to receive the relevant services.
- Governing law & Jurisdiction: the agreement will be governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the jurisdiction of the courts of England in London.
